So, Hicks and Gillett paid £50m for stadium designs? Some guy's architectural doodle? Nothing fishy about that at all.

Papiss Cisse, I love you. Please never leave Newcastle.

If they can keep as much or all of this team together, Newcastle are going to be fantastic next year. So much fun to watch. With Ben Arfa supplying the ball (when he feels like passing) to Cisse, Tiote, etc. there's many goals to be had. Really enjoying watching this battle for 3rd/4th play out.

Why would anyone with a better option, particularly someone not English, stay at Newcastle?

The famous Geordie nightlife, obviously.
Loathe him or hate him, you can't argue with what Fergie has achieved in 26 years at Old Trafford - single-handedly turning United from a much-loved, much-admired club into probably the most reviled in world football... At 71 years of age, Fergie has seen it all, and drunk most of it. Now he intends to enjoy retirement in the best way possible - by watching his successor struggle to match his achievements.
David Moyes had been widely talking about as becoming the next United boss by wildly hopeful Premier League chairmen. Yesterday their prayers were on the verge of being answered. Well, all those except for those of Tony Fernandes who is praying someone stupid buys his players.

- Derek McGovern, The Daily Mirror.

You want it both ways. You want to have your cake and fucking eat it to. You want to fuck the shit out of that cake, and have that cake get your family's approval. I'm not sure which way to go on this one... it might be a chance for you to learn an early lesson in not giving a fuck what other people think. A lesson every man has to learn sooner or later.

- The Ultimate Warrior, responding to a reader who asked if it was OK to start dating his cousin.

You know what is more fun? The nightlife and higher whore quality in Paris, Milan, Madrid, Barcelona, London, Munich...and all those places are in the Champions League every year (PSG will be), they all pay better, and only some of them are violently racist.

What a shock! Wayne Rooney's mishit overhead kick against City last year was voted best goal in the history of the Premier League with Bergkamp v Newcastle 2nd and Henry v United 3rd. Never mind the fact that it is not the best Rooney goal (v Newcastle and V Arsenal with Everton come to mind). I guess we should be happy any of those dirty fucking foreigners and/or black fellas even got nominated. For Christ's sake, BOTH of Cisse's goals yesterday were better.

Yeah, that Rooney goal winning is total balls, it's entirely due to the timing and the occasion, not the quality of the goal itself. I've seen Peter Crouch score goals like that, John Eustace has scored two for Watford in the last couple of seasons, it's debatable whether it even deserved to make the shortlist. The Henry goal probably should have won, but only because Cisse's was too recent to be nominated.

Not even in the top 20 Man U goals in the last 20 years. People are just fucking imbecilic.

Didn't Robbie Williams win best song of the last millennium or something equally silly?

Expected Wayne Rooney to win the best Premier League goal in twenty years but like everyone here, agree that it shouldn't have.

And how did Ashley Cole not make the cut?

Norwich are making the battle for 3rd more exciting. Still love how guys like journeyman Grant Holt and non-league-3-years-ago Steve Morison are succeeding in the top flight.
