Couldn't watch the game tonight, but yeah, it seems Pierce just put on his old-school boots. I feel like Celtic fans forget the days when Pierce would routinely put up big numbers to save a team of nobodys. I was worried about no Rondo and Allen tonight, but I shouldn't have discounted Pierce or Garnett one bit.

I do wish this Pierce had showed up in Game 3 of the 2010 Finals when Allen had a complete no-show performance.

Philadelphia hasn't really caught Sixers playoff fever. Hell most guys can still go unrecognized.

After tonight I have a feeling a lot more people know who he is now.

Lakers took the foot off the accelerator, although the outcome of game 2 was never really in doubt.  But when Kobe has 38 and Bynum has 27, you kinda expect more of an ass-kicking.  Lakers had about 2 or 3 10+ point runs, but then they kept letting Denver get back in.  I'm guessing Denver takes game 3.

Lakers up 2-0!!! They haven't lost the lead in the playoffs.  Denver sped up this game more and were forcing the Lakers into more turnovers, but I just think they have this really wacky way of attacking teams were their bigs are really inconsistent and Denver's a bad 3-point shooting team that takes a lot of 3-point shots.

Lakers should have won this game by double-digits.  Kobe late in the game took some bad 3-point shots when he could very easily get by Gallinari. Kobe and Bynum were pretty dominant on offense.  I like this team better than last year's team, but like I said before, this year there's tougher competition out West.  Replacing Fisher, Odom and Brown with Sessions, Hill and Ebanks has given this team a little more life. They seem more focused in this playoffs. Last year, they looked pretty lazy even in the first round.

The only thing I've learned from the Laker series is that Ty Lawson has gotten really really good. I knew he was going to be solid and he showed flashes coming off the bench but holy shit...  they may have a star on their hands.

I'm going to assume you only saw game 2 and missed his complete disappearing act in game 1 then (1 pt, 1 rebound through 3 qtrs, 6pts in garbage time.)

Good game shaping up in Memphis tonight.  Also, King Lawler gave some dude the piledriver directly on the court.

Glad to see Memphis win that one.  Ugly start, but I almost think Memphis needed to play from behind for motivation.  And poor Dick Stockton.  That was painful.

And as great as Chris Paul, and he is, I don't know, something about him annoys the shit out of me.  He just always looks like he has this giant chip on his shoulder.

And I HATE Shaq on Inside the NBA.  The topic post Spurs game was how the Spurs bench easily handled the Jazz stars, and Shaq made a point of noting how important the bench was because every ring he had was due to a bench player.  Which is nice, except by listing examples, he fucked up three of the four reasons he had a ring:

Ring 1:  Fisher and his 0.4 shot (WRONG, Lakers lost to Detroit in the Finals that year.)
Ring 2:  Horry hits a miracle 3 (WRONG, that was ring 3)
Ring 3:  Shaw hit 3s to beat Portland (WRONG, that was ring 1)
Ring 4:  Payton.  I didn't watch, so I'll just take his word for it.

It's so weird that moments that are permanently etched in my brain can't even be remembered accurately by the guys who actually LIVED them.

I've had those moments watching Shaq too where it's like, "That's not the way I (or history) remembers it."

In 5 years (because let's face it - TNT's not dumping Shaq), I wonder how he'll match up to Hogan in this way. I give it one more year until he starts saying how he dunked over a 7'5 Hakeem Olajuwon who had to retire the next day.

And then he had to fly back in time to play in the Olympics that same day. Because of the date line, you see.

Interesting night tonight with Dallas and New York getting their first home games of their respective series. I think Dallas will probably get it done on their court for at least one game. New York.... not so much. I see some brooms in their future.

Only way I see the Knicks winning is if Novak/Smith go off from three.

Chris Bosh is probably out of tonight's game due to the birth of his new child.

I think I read on Yahoo that, because things went so quickly, Bosh is flying back to New York for the game. Wade and Bron apparently expect him to be there for it.

Could be a real tired papa though.

When TNT covered the King-Lawler thing, they showed Shaq vs Show afterwards. Now that is something that would make up for Shaw's horrendous commentary - show all of Shaq's embarassing moments.

Lead off every commercial break with clips of Kazaam and Steel. Play his rap album in the background. That is totally something I can get on board with.

Looking for a date, Shaq?
Knowing how to be solitary is central to the art of loving. When we can be alone, we can be with others without using them as a means of escape.

Sometimes, I feel discriminated against, but it does not make me angry. It merely astonishes me. How can any deny themselves the pleasure of my company? It’s beyond me.

Knicks and especially Melo look gassed right now. Their chance to take this game and put it away was in the second quarter when the Heat were playing like ass and they didn't.
