Bill Murray, Zombieland. I don't think I've ever laughed harder in my life.

I've just spent the last hour watching Bill Murray interview clips on youtube and now there is no way I can vote against him.  I highly advise this if you are ever feeling down.  If these count in his body of work, this is no contest.  I think they should.

He's never off and never not there 100%.  Even his acceptance speech at the idiotic "Scream" awards was hilarious.

and...this Letterman clip...fast forward to 6:15 when he starts talking about hosting SNL...

His delivery of "Oh, God....lot of ways" was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time.

"It's all a big Nothing.  What makes you think you're so special?"
(Livia Soprano [1930-2001] channeling Samuel Beckett [1906-1989] friend to André René Roussimoff [1946-1993]).

Yeah, I don't even like Depp so this is an easy vote.

I haven't understood the love for Bill Murray since the beginning but then I was pretty young during his peak (or not born yet) and probably missed out on a lot. Depp has an awesome catalog.

Murray was great in the 80s and 90s, but I think he is at his peak now.

YMMV on Wes Anderson, but Rushmore and Steve Zissou do not work with any other actor and he is imo the most interesting character in Royal Tenenbaums (especially impressive since his role is pretty small). Broken Flowers breaks my heart every time I watch it. There's nothing else that can be written about Lost in Translation.

Add on his earlier stuff like Scrooged, Groundhog Day (especially Groundhog Day), Kingpin, Ghostbusters, Mad Dog and Glory, What About Bob? (he's great, the movie not so much), Ed Wood...and on and on...and it's not even close in my mind.

Depp's great, Bill's the best.

This one needs more props.  There's several scenes where Murray is playing an overbearing, intimidating gangster who is scaring the shit out of fuckin' Bobby DeNiro, and it actually works.
