I'm watching Harper and his tools astound me.  His speed to first, his bat speed and his coverage in the OF...just wow. It may take him 5 years to put it all together, but when he does, look out.

And the Tigers drop another and are now 11-11.  The vaunted offense now features a guy batting 5th that has played 11 games in the majors since the start of 2007.  Yeah, that's awesome - or not.

This is really awesome. We need more of this. Good for Brandon, and finally glad to see Oakland's bats able to get the guy a win.

Playing 7 games against the Padres and 3 against the Padres are a great help in making you 9-1. Of course, umpire incompetence leading to a bizarre triple play helps out too.

Their next three series are at Milwaukee, at Houston and home against Atlanta. At least with 2 of those 3 they'll get more of a challenge.

So, two weeks later, and after sweeping the Nats, still just a lucky team, or more of a threat than people give them credit for? Don't get me wrong, I don't see them continuing on such a pace, but they keep finding ways to win games, and not just by racing out in front and holding teams off. They are coming from behind, winning games late, just playing real solid baseball on both sides.

Of course, Kemp and Ethier driving in 24 apiece so far, and Loney and Uribe appearing to be waking up offensively doesn't hurt. Everyone on that club is playing their role really, really well right now, and and I am loving every minute of it, even if it's only through April.
