Three more weeks, three more weeks and Andy should be back and up to speed.

Now how do they replace Phil Hughes' sorry ass as well.

Kemp crushed that pitch to win the game for the Dodgers in the 10th.

I'm watching Harper and his tools astound me.  His speed to first, his bat speed and his coverage in the OF...just wow. It may take him 5 years to put it all together, but when he does, look out.

And the Tigers drop another and are now 11-11.  The vaunted offense now features a guy batting 5th that has played 11 games in the majors since the start of 2007.  Yeah, that's awesome - or not.

Well Brandon McCarthy got himself a new fan

Quote

Oakland A's pitcher Brandon McCarthy blasted the practice of often focusing baseball stadiums' "kiss cams" on two men to spark laughter as silly and homophobic.

When the kiss cam shows two men they often make faces of disgust, while the crowd erupts in laughter. The 28-year-old player recently tweeted, "They put two guys on the 'Kiss Cam' tonight. What hilarity!! (by hilarity I mean offensive homophobia). Enough with this stupid trend."

McCarthy elaborated on his feelings to the San Francisco Chronicle.

"There's that stupid, little comedic value of it if you don't really think about what it implies," he said Tuesday. "It kind of got old on that level. Then I actually started thinking about why we were supposed to be laughing, and it bugged me."

It's hypocritical for Major League Baseball teams to film It Gets Better videos and continue with antigay baiting via the kiss cam, McCarthy says.

"If there are gay people who are coming to a game and seeing something like that, you can't assume they're comfortable with it," he said. "If you're even making a small group of people ... feel like outcasts, then you're going against what makes your model successful."
This is really awesome. We need more of this. Good for Brandon, and finally glad to see Oakland's bats able to get the guy a win.
Yeah, kudos to Brandon for that.

How are the Dodgers 9-1? HOW?!? How I say!

Playing 7 games against the Padres and 3 against the Padres are a great help in making you 9-1. Of course, umpire incompetence leading to a bizarre triple play helps out too.

Their next three series are at Milwaukee, at Houston and home against Atlanta. At least with 2 of those 3 they'll get more of a challenge.

I predicted that if LA has 15 wins two weeks from now, they should consider themselves lucky.

So, two weeks later, and after sweeping the Nats, still just a lucky team, or more of a threat than people give them credit for? Don't get me wrong, I don't see them continuing on such a pace, but they keep finding ways to win games, and not just by racing out in front and holding teams off. They are coming from behind, winning games late, just playing real solid baseball on both sides.

Of course, Kemp and Ethier driving in 24 apiece so far, and Loney and Uribe appearing to be waking up offensively doesn't hurt. Everyone on that club is playing their role really, really well right now, and and I am loving every minute of it, even if it's only through April.

So, um, Ryan Bruan just kind of completely murdered the Padres.

Well fuck this place. It took 144 characters or less to kill all the buzz we'd built up in this thread. "We take pro wrestling seriously" sounds like code for Davey Richards vs. Davey Richards in a Davey Richards on a pole match. Inside a Steel Davey Richards.

So, I started a blog....https://farwell3d.wordpress.com/

Having a 3 HR game at Petco is quite an accomplishment.

And a triple in another at bat is nothing to scoff at itself.  But a triple in a cavernous OF like SD might be easier then other stadiums.

Well it's a good thing Braun has such a wicked case of the herp.

Still waiting for an apology for how the sample handler has been vilified.

So, the Red Sox sign someone in order to try and improve their pitching staff sometime in the future.

Problem is, it's MARK PRIOR, who last pitched in the big leagues in August of 2006.
