This led to one of my favorite promos from Dusty about how Baby Doll was so big and heavy that she ended up breaking e back of poor Floyd the horse and Dusty had to put him down.

Actually that promo sounds more like Dusty (or should it be Nelson Royal? It was his ranch after all...) had to "retire" Floyd than outright kill him. Note that said equine is being discussed in the present tense.

I love that Baby Doll (the "city girl" from Lubbock, Texas) didn't pretend for one half-second that she didn't know what she was doing out there with Floyd from top to bottom.

That never struck me as weird. But then I think all texas can magically ride horses, so what do I know?

Well, Lubbock is her "shoot" hometown but they never really emphasized that she was from there... just that she was a big city girl who Dusty was trying to embarrass in theory, only for her to outsmart him at every turn.

Let me put this another way.

Anyone who happened to be in JCP and wasn't Kevin Sullivan (or later Paul Heyman) could probably ride a horse in my mind, being all southerners.

Hell, I bet Jim Cornette could probably ride a donkey.

But they make a big deal out of the fact she's a texan before she gets on the horse. for a second there, you almost get the feeling that Dusty is getting to her.
