1 yr/$500K. He must serve his 50 game suspension before returning, which according to ESPN barring rainouts or Godzilla attack is on 5/30.

Thank you, Mike Cameron, for your 4-HR game against the Yankees that was 2 feet from being a 5-HR game (fly ball caught right against the fence in the 9th).

Actually not mad at that move, since Ibanez can still play the corner OF positions better than most of the other available DH's in the market, so he won't completly eat up a roster spot to hit in 75-90 games.

Different Chris Carpenter. Possible same upside, though. He has some electric stuff and would definitely have a place as a closer, or if stretched out, maybe a middle of the rotation pitcher.

PTBNL too, but in return for another player from Boston.
Now the Cubs need to settle the compensation for snagging Hoyer from San Diego.

This is fun. In 2008, Marlins’ president David Samson apparently served as auctioneer at what I can only guess was a charity auction at a Florida Marlins awards banquet at a country club.
At the outset of the auction, he said, in what I can only guess was a joking manner, that the Marlins were the first item up for bid, minimum bid, $10 million.
Then, from the crowd, someone, in what one would reasonably assume was a joking manner, bid $10 million. I’m sure there were chuckles all around, and then the actual auction began.
Except the guy who bid $10 million now claims that he was serious and is suing the Marlins, claiming that they breached a contract by not selling the team to him for $10 million. Courtesy of Sport in Law, here’s the lawsuit.
This is why we can’t have nice things, people.
The suit was filed by an actual law firm too, not some weirdo acting on his own twisted behalf. Here’s hoping that the judge who is assigned to the case is especially cranky the day he or she reads this thing and kicks all kinds of lawyer and plaintiff butt as he or she drums this frivolous complaint out of court.

That said, given my moderate knowledge of contract law, and just going off the story, there's obviously nothing in contract law that dictates the team must be sold, nor is Samson in breach of contract since there is no contract. It's not even a verbal agreement for crying out loud. More than anything, I hope the judge tears the bidder a new one for being so stupid to throw money away to an attorney in an attempt to win this case.

Well fuck this place. It took 144 characters or less to kill all the buzz we'd built up in this thread. "We take pro wrestling seriously" sounds like code for Davey Richards vs. Davey Richards in a Davey Richards on a pole match. Inside a Steel Davey Richards.
So, I started a blog....https://farwell3d.wordpress.com/
