I started a similar thread on my blog awhile back, but I am a little behind on watching stuff, so this thread is awesome.

Arcangel del Muerta/ Nitro/ El Hijo del Signo vs El Sagrado/ Fuego/ Sangre Azteca from CMLL 1/16:  Arcangel is sooo fucking awesome and here is his first televised match of the year- so on it goes!  Dies a little in the second caida but Arcangel hits a sweet lariat to you keep in the game.  (Jump past the third caida of the fat guys in tigermasks at the start of the file.)



And keep watching the La Sombra/ Blue Panther/ La Mascara vs Polvora/ Felino/ Negro Casas match- the assbeating betwixt Negro and BP is mixed in with some really nifty shit.

My MOTY so far from the latest Dragon Gate TV. The finish takes it down a few notches but I'll be damned if the 20 minutes preceding it isn't one of the best DG outings ever. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but it's a jaw dropping match filled with cool shit and ass beatings a plenty (Tozawa and Shingo be the men for that). All the Blood Warriors summon up their inner dickhead in this one and it's great.

NEW JAPAN 2-5- Giant Bernard/ Anderson/ Kojima/Tenzan /etc.   In case you were wondering what kind of weird ass sounds Giant Bernard makes while wrestling, it is all right here.  He does beat the crap out of folks so that also helps.

NJ 2/5/2012- TANAHASHI/ GOTO/ NAITO/HONMA vs NAKAMURA/ OKADA/ TANAKA/ TAKAHASHI: Actually, the Nakamura/Naito section of this goes all shooty and hurty so this would be your NJ candidate from the evening.  Honma is beaten to death for your pleasure.  And you find it.... pleasing.  And you can't tell me that Okada fella ain't good lookin.

I really loved that match. I'm not even a lucha fan (as many on here would already know!) but that match was so great. I guess it's more accesible as they use a whole number of tropes that are usual in Japanese wrestling. Thanks for posting these!

BIG JAPAN- Brahman Bros/ Shinobu vs Hashimoto/ Tsukamoto/Masahi Otani- 1/2/2012
Why yes, this is the goofiest asskicking of the year.  I love the Bluebeard Pegleg Spinning Savat Crescent Kicks with the caution cones.  Titty Twister As TRANSITION~! is also pretty swank.  The fact that most of this looks like it truly hurt like a motherfucker makes it preposterous AND awesome.


Soya also kicks the crap out of Okabayashi.  Lumpy fat guys punching each other in the face?  I'm not made of wood.

Actually, I like this Hama/Akebono match from Big Japan on 1/2 better than the Hama/Akebono match from AJPW on 1/3.  Hama is waaay more a Vaderette in this one because Yoshihito Sasaki is more crushable than Okabayashi. And there is crushing.  Akebono taunting Sekimoto and making creepy faces cancels out Hama using his sweet sweet gigantic ass for evil. Akebono is fucking awesome in this.

ZERO-1 1/1/2012- Kohei Sato vs Diasuke Sekimoto.  HEY!  How about some Z-1?  Sure.  Why (the heck) not?  They kinda fiddle around for ten minutes then at just before the 12 minute mark Sato OPTS to kick the living dogshit out of everyone's favorite frogfaced boy.  Sekimoto will always annoy certain segments of wrestling fandom- me included- but he does enough deadlift German Suplexes here to negate his total lack of psychology.

CMLL 1/13/2012- Dallys/ Marcel/ Dark Angel vs Amapola/ Princesa Blanca/ Zeuxis: This goes on because it's the only laaadies match I've watched this year- though that can't detract from a.) the really good roll-up sequences between Amapola and Dark Angel in the first Caida, b.) the rudo beatdown being totally mean and hateful in the second caida, and c.) Zeuxis wearing the sluttiest outfit in the history of not just Wrestling or just Mexico, but IN HISTORY.  I'm assuming that you can get herpes just trying it on. Dallys is your Dream Perky Girlfriend and you want to buy her a promise ring already...

PRO WRESTLING NOAH 1/29/2012- Katsuhiko Nakajima vs Atsushi Aoki:  GODDAM, I love this match.  Aoki finds a thousand ways rip Nakajima's arm apart and Nakajima fights like a motherfucker to keep from getting beat over the head with his own severed arm.   The Top Wristlock DDT is sooooo motherfucking SWANK.

ZERO-1- 2/1/2012- KOHEI SATO vs KAMIKAZE.  God, I haven't seen Kamikaze wrestle in forever.  He's aged about as well as most of us.  Actually, the forces of time crushing his spirit make this a really good match.  The whole match he makes all these faces like he is in his death throes and it adds to the existential aspect of this wrestling drama.  The match itself has two great piledrivers and a really beautiful K-Driller to add to the effect that Kamikaze is about to slip from this mortal coil.

AAA- 1/21/2012- HECTOR GARZA/  PERRO AGUAYO JR vs JACK EVANS/  RICKY BANDERAS-  Throw this one too.  HEctor Garza is fucking aWWWWWWESOME as the biggest asshole in wrestling- as this match is about a perfectly executed Southern Tag Match as you will ever see.  Banderas spends too much time on the apron for a guy who is prolly the most underrated wrestler on earth, but Evans takes an ass-beating just fine.  Putting it over the top is the nasty Big Boy Plancha by Banderas onto Garza, Garza bumping like a KING early in the match, and Evans taking Aguayo's FUCKING FUCKING FUCKING straight onto the top of his skull.

CMLL- 1/31/2012- MR NIEBLA/ NEGRO CASAS/ VOLADOR JR vs BLUE PANTHER/ LA MASCARA/  LA SOMBRA:  Schneider sent this to me, saying "Panther v. Casas is amazing, everyone else kind of stinks."  Which is plenty enough to get it on the list.  Lemme watch it and see.  I'm back.  Yeah, that about sums it up.

That CMLL six man would have been so amazing if everyone else just stayed out of the way. Man were the other four guys an albatross on the match though. I remember when I liked Niebla too.
