Never got my ballot back, Kyle. Was busy the last couple of days.

On reflection, Fire Pro Returns was probably the most worthy choice, but I couldn't justify going that high for a game that I never actually technically play, simming matches being the only true and proper path. Amazed I was the top vote on that though, not to mention Mario Sunshine and Kart: Double Dash. Elsewhere in the poll, a lot of games that I'm a huge fan of, and would have voted for if I hadn't played them on PC (Psychonauts, KOTOR) and current gen consoles (Okami). What this poll has firmly reminded me though, is that at the risk of having to unweld Fire Pro from my PS2, I should really get hold of a copy of Shadow Of The Colossus.

Eventually I will look at the full results again but I don't remember seeing Beyond Good & Evil which makes me sad. If I am right (and I didn't just miss it) that would easily be my highest voted game that didn't make the list.

Okay - if you had it #21 and I had it #6 (found my ballot) - how the heck didn't it make the back end of the ballot?
By my shitty math - that should have given it 75 Points (assuming no one else voted for it) - that should have put it somewhere in the 70s.
Maybe that explains the missing #42

Looking back at the data, that is exactly right. Actually, Crazy Taxi should be #42 and Beyond Good and Evil should be #41. I'll make a post about it later today.

After all of these polls I feel like this was the greatest gaming generation, with the 16-bit era not too far behind. It feels like this era really hit the sweet spot between technology being powerful but still cheap enough to develop for that we saw some really strange, creative games that we probably wouldn't get today. I think I'll be breaking out the PS2 tonight to replay some things.
One final request, Kyle: would it be possible for you to post the list of all 200-some games that got votes? I'm curious to see what stuff didn't make the cut. If it's difficult/time-consuming then forget about it.

There were a lot of really good PS2 games on this list I just haven't played, starting with nothing bigger than Shadow of the Colossus.

Surprised to see such residual love for Mario and Final Fantasy from this generation. Surprised, though they were high, at Disgaea games placing where they did. Thought the first could go top 10. Impressed I wasn't top vote for Monkey Ball. What a stylish, charming game that is.

Sure thing. These are all the games that got at least one vote, including the ones that made the cut, in no particular order:

throughsilver, one of the things I want the most that I've never even seen in person is this: http://www.flickr.co...aflo/281811403/ - it's basically the first game in Arcade form. And look, it even has a banana as a joystick! Super Monkey Ball series peaked with 2 and hasn't been as good since, but I still think the first game was nearly perfect - the simplicity of the game, the pinpoint control and the ever increasing challenge. And it actually sold a few Gamecube systems early on when I got four of my friends together to do some Monkey Boxing. More than Star Wars, they *had* to play more Monkey Ball.

We got similar tastes it seems, but I never played Bully, hence it never made my list at all.
Hey Kyle, did my vote for RE: CV X get lumped in with RE:CV, since gameplay wise, they're the same game, just with tweeks to the cutscene's? I only voted for X because I liked the cutscenes better, and it played better on a PS2 controller as opposed to the DC one.

Bully was 12 out of 18 on my ballot so you had it one place higher that I did.
