Aww.... I was trying to decide if you were making the subtle joke about how there isn't a good English Keeper anywhere

The England fans on twitter were making that joke.

The England fans on twitter ALSO hate Aluko, who was limpy and gimpy and terrible.

The women's team was getting news coverage this morning while I was at the shop having the oil changed in my car. Though it could have been on ABC; I wasn't really paying attention.

Awwww....ESPN3 is down for the USA-DPRK game. "We don't need any more hamsters in that wheel," though ESPN. "Nobody watches women's soccer anyhow."

Yeah - that's like the least surprising news ever

Unless of course Lulz decided that was going to be their next attack

EDIT - Oh and what is also great is that ESPN/Soccernet's Gamecast page is a big old "File Not Found" right now too

Terrible first half for Team USA, never has our senior citizenness looked more obvious.

Well, veteran GUILE or whatever won out over youthful exuberance/worry about one's family being held hostage. Okay, not guile, but we did turn on the jets in the second. Way too many stupid chances given up in the first.

This is the USNT, not even the Men's.  We don't care enough about Soccer to hold one's family hostage.  Now Argentina on the other hand...

Well it's not like DPRK cares that much about soccer either. Hostage-holding is just their quaint cultural tradition.

By the way DPRK would totally have won if not for getting struck by lightning on the way over or something:

When the men's team lose to a major rival, they go with something kinda plausible: food poisoning. I admire the women's team for being way more inventive.

Norway-Equatorial Guinea was atrocious, an omnibus of bad shots and missed opportunities.

Brazil-Australia was much better. Brazil's one great play around the goal was the only thing that separated them.

I shouldn't have made her my sig.

Another game today where Germany looked pretty beatable but they still won. Not sure it says too much about them being weak or anything.

Having seen this match I really donīt know what to make of it. Birgit Prinz seems to be more of a burden than any kind of help right now.

The German announcers are usually bad, but this one pointed out one true thing when he said: This seems like a blueprint of how to play the German team.
The Nigerians really took it to the DFB Damen, lots of hard tackles (also lots of ridiculous fouls the ref apparently missed - she was pretty bad) and never seemed to show fear. I think Germany will fare a little better against teams which actually play, I havenīt seen the first game, but despite the scoreline being 2:1, from the highlight it seems they were creating more than they did yesterday.
