Looks like they out bid ABC/ESPN and FOX. Too bad, ESPN3.com Olympics would really be neat.

Ugh.  I'm tired of NBC's Olympic coverage.  The graphics have looked the same since 1992.  And Bob Costas bugs.
Knowing how to be solitary is central to the art of loving. When we can be alone, we can be with others without using them as a means of escape.

Sometimes, I feel discriminated against, but it does not make me angry. It merely astonishes me. How can any deny themselves the pleasure of my company? It’s beyond me.

You've got a sick sense of humor.   And I ain't laughing.

i dont mind since

1. it increases chances of NHL participation in Sochi.

2. I had no problem with NBC's internet coverage, where you could watch any event.

The thing I hate most about NBC having the Olympics is the guy with huge white hair that calls all the Notre Dame football games on NBC.  That guy is awful.

Well fuck this place. It took 144 characters or less to kill all the buzz we'd built up in this thread. "We take pro wrestling seriously" sounds like code for Davey Richards vs. Davey Richards in a Davey Richards on a pole match. Inside a Steel Davey Richards.

Yes, NBC's internet coverage was awesome. Very good quality too. I expect it to be even better this time around. If you think Joe Buck with FOX would have been awful..  just imagine Stu Scott and ESPN.

Yeah, but ESPN3 kept everything longer than Silverlight, there's only so much time to watch things :)

Oh, poor Tom Hammond. Wait a minute, I don't really care for him either.

Stu Scott and ESPN doing the Olympics doesn't compare to Chris Berman and ESPN doing the Olympics. Listening to his stumbling and bumbling inane ramblings during that long two week period would probably make me want to shoot my TV with a revolver.

That's just hurtful.

On the other hand, this now denies us a chance for Joe Buck, Tony Siragusa, and Tim McCarver to be "lost" in the back alleys of Rio in a few years...

I'd rather have 4 hours of Stu Scott than 1 of Joe Buck.

And I hate Stu.

Of course - the question becomes

With Dick Ebersol gone - do they keep tape delaying the hell out of events?

Their quotes yesterday seemed to indicate that "every event will be live on some platform" and "prime time will likely be a packaged product."

Jesus people, Stu's got like one foot in the grave. Who knows if he'll even see the 2012 version of the Olympics.
