Maybe it's because the hockey guys actually have something to say, whereas the football guys seem to just talk in basic cliches.

Danny was incredulous that Mick doesn't use a comb to get his hair like that nor that he never rode anything but a horse or donkey.

The brown sauce/red sauce divide seems to match up well to the Northerners/Southerners divide it seems.

It's called Soccernomics, and apparently it's an examination of why certain countries dominate on the world stage and why England doesn't. It sounds interesting.

Meanwhile, the new Al Jazeera owned network that bought up the rights to Serie A, Ligue 1, La Liga, Concacaf and some other stuff....still does not have a contract with a single satellite or cable company to carry the network. They bought the rights to the SUPERCOPA, which is on AUG. 11...then moved their own launch date back to Aug. 15.
Idiots.
So, If you have GOLTV and are expecting to see Barca or PSG soon...join the rest of us in now knowing what the fuck is going on.
The last I heard, the PR guy for this new network was quoted as saying "we are almost certain we will be carried by one provider when we start broadcasting...and maybe two!"
Brilliant.

Ligue 1 – beIN Sports through 2014-15
SPL – Sportsnet World (unknown term length)

beIN Sports also has Coppa Italia, Copa del Ray (except the final) and Football League Cup. Sportsnet World also has DFB Pokal and the Charity Shield. GolTV also has the Copa del Ray Final and the German and Spanish Supercups.
beIN Sports is currently not available in Canada. It sounds like they are working on a deal with TLN that would bring their matches to Canadians.
