Here's a very sad story. News of Wright being missing became national just a few days ago, and today his body was found in Memphis.

Quote

Law enforcement officials have found the body of missing Memphis basketball star Lorenzen Wright in a wooded area at Hacks Cross and Winchester in southeast Memphis.

A law enforcement source confirmed the body was that of Wright, 34, who has been missing since July 19, though the Memphis Police Department won't officially comment. Police are referring to their investigation as a "death investigation."

Curtis Wright, Lorenzen Wright's uncle told The Associated Press that police called the player’s father, Herb Wright, a couple of hours ago.

According to sources, a 9-1-1 call was made from Wright's cell phone on July 19. A Germantown fire dispatcher could hear the loud blasts of several gunshots. The cellphone call ended at that point.

The body was found by someone who called police today

Like I said, very unfortunate. RIP

This story just got weirder.

Quote

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — An attorney says three armed men looking for Lorenzen Wright showed up at the home of the former NBA player's ex-wife about six weeks before he was found shot to death.

Lawyer Gail Mathes says her client, Sherra Wright, was afraid for herself and her children so kept quiet about the encounter until Monday. She then alerted police in the Memphis suburb of Collierville.

Mathes says the men, dressed in sport coats with weapons in view, threatened Sherra Wright and her family if she told anyone about the visit. Mathes' account was first reported by The Commercial Appeal.

Lorenzen Wright's body was found Wednesday in woods in southeast Memphis. He had been missing since July 18, when he left his ex-wife's house around midnight with an unidentified person.

I might be a cynical bastard, but my first thought to that is "she's making that that up, now that they found the body."

Well fuck this place. It took 144 characters or less to kill all the buzz we'd built up in this thread. "We take pro wrestling seriously" sounds like code for Davey Richards vs. Davey Richards in a Davey Richards on a pole match. Inside a Steel Davey Richards.

So, I started a blog....https://farwell3d.wordpress.com/

Reality never seems to fit the stories people try creating.  Why in the hell would she not contact police, the FBI, someone, like three minutes after the initial encounter with gunmen?  That defies sane logic.  "My husband is a millionaire, so I think the police may be slightly more interested in protecting my family than some other bimbo and her children."

Someone is withholding information, and it will eventually come out, and she'll probably be one of the culprits.

You obviously live your life in the pursuit of schadenfreude since almost every post from you here or PWO or Cageside is to deliver "insider gossip" or to report with extreme glee on the latest sleaze in pro wrestling or MMA.

Well, if nothing else, at least I'm not the only cynical bastard.

Is it really that much of a stretch to believe that someone might actually not talk if they are threatened by armed individuals if she squeals?  Someone not doing what you would do doesn't make a story completely implausible.

Well, it appears that her indecision has cost her dearly, her husband's life and the meal ticket for the family is gone.  It does seem odd that the woman couldn't overcome her fear, not only to protect herself from possible acts of violence, but her husband, and her children.  So yes, it does seem implausible to me.  I guess some people have different mentalities when it comes to protecting loved ones.
If the story pans out to be valid, it will most certainly make the woman look selfish.
