Where's the Wii's Seaman?

Hell they've been making contacts all over the Japanese industry lately like say this for example...

By the way Satoshi-kun my sister and I are legal now...
Both sisters appeared on a recnt All Japan show (scoring win over Kyoko Kimura and Mikado) and apparently both Kojima and Muto were very high on them.

SENDAI and MAHEKEN have a chance to mak a really good rivalry between the Kanari sisters and the Shirais. If either group were willing ot pull the switch this could be a tag feud that could actually earn a little money. You've got the awesome trashy Shirai sisters with their willingness to always play heel against the small but fun Kanaris, who no matter how hard they try are destined to be a face team. I'd really love to see the Shirais get a shot fulltime with JWP. In 2-3 years a Shirais v. UematsuRan match could be a beautiful thing.

The one problem in joshi right now is, they keep these girls in rookie mode for far too long... I believe the last All-Star show had a big "graduation" match, and yet Natsuki*Taiyo is still opening (when she is waaay past that)... the bookers need to get their act together and pull some triggers while fans are showing any kind of interest in the new faces before it's too late (Hikaru, anyone?).

The Shirai sisters and the Kanari sisters (DASH Chisako and Sendai Sachiko) are meeting up again at a MAKEHEN show next month, although I doubt that will ever reach us. Io and Sachiko did meet in the 5 vs 5 elimination match at the last Sendai Girls show and that will be on Samurai TV soon. DASH Chisako is fun; she's a runt with delusions of grandeur and a huge Napoleon complex. Mio (the faux MMA girl) is all look; she talks the talk as a bitchy bad-ass but she can't walk the walk.
Agree with Eivion about girls being kept in rookie mode for forever. Mariko Yoshida is by far the best at not doing this. The Ito Dojo girls are ridiculous-is Ayako Sato going to eventually wrestle her 10th anniversary match in rookie AJW dropkick mode?
It looks like JWP may not make this mistake with Arisa Nakajima, especially if this Hotta vs JWP feud features Arisa standing up to Hotta, Hyuga, etc. I'm kind of surprised that she's apparently going to be more of a face than a heel. Hiroyo Matsumoto has been booked pretty well in OZ and NEO as well. She benefits greatly from being one of the biggest of the new girls, as opposed to a lot of them who are very small and look like little kids when you put them in the ring with a Toyota or Kansai or Inoue.

In related news, I really miss The Bloody.

This is going to do mediocre or relatively ok attendance depending on how they run the show. Looks like Koda is treating Nanae as his new favorite, much like he did with Emi Sakura last year.

I watched AJW 8/30/92 today and she was really fun as a huge underdog vs Kyoko and vs Toyota. So thoroughly different with her no-hands run-up-the-ropes spots.

She's an excellent trainer.. responsible for Ayako, AKINO, Ai Fujita, Tojyuki Leon (Reina Takase), and Ayumi Kurihara. All-in-all, I've yet to really see a BAD match from Yoshida, just an excellent talent.

Yeah, AKINO and Ayako were "disciples" of Aja, but trained by Yoshida..

And if we're including Yoshida's Ibuki students, you've got Shu Shibutani and Hiroyo Matsumoto as excellent examples of her training work as well. To me, the most dramatic difference can be seen with someone like Melissa, who was previously trained. APW turns out some nice students, but to be perfectly honest...if you look at pre-Yoshida Melissa and post-Yoshida Melissa, the difference is staggering (to me, at least). Likewise, early Matsumoto matches in Ibuki were torturous to watch (again, for me at least), while her more recent stuff is quite watchable. I'd put her up there with Jaguar Yokota and Eddie Sharkey on my list of most awesome trainers.
