It's weird.  When Bane says, "I'm Gotham's reckoning," it sounds like the old voice, but then "Your punishment must be more severe!" is so cleaned up and high in the mix, it's like a completely different person.

I'd guess he still sounds closer to the old way in the movie.

Trailer rocks balls, by the way.

ALSO:  Considering she's barely been in any of the promotional material so far, it could not be more obvious that there's a big surprise of some sort with Marion Cotillard's character.  I don't think she's in this trailer at all, unless your look really hard at the credits.  It's almost like they want you to forget she's in the movie.

She's in there. She's the one making out with Bruce.

BTW, for those of you who have seen bigger movie releases in IMAX, is there typically a presale for IMAX tickets?

Well fuck this place. It took 144 characters or less to kill all the buzz we'd built up in this thread. "We take pro wrestling seriously" sounds like code for Davey Richards vs. Davey Richards in a Davey Richards on a pole match. Inside a Steel Davey Richards.

Let me see...

Ah, I missed that snippet amidst the 'splosions.  So...she's in there for like 1.5 seconds.

Only the last bit with the new Batwing I thought was really cool.  New trailer just did little for me.

I didn't care for The Bat flip. Seeing the real prop on an actual street and then seeing the CG equivalent do flips just felt weird.

The first thing that comes to mind amongst all this hype(or "the trailer does nothing for me" talk) is the Lost finale. I knew no matter what they churned out, there was going to be a whole lot of hate, and at best, disappointment. After something as great, and as hyped, as The Dark Knight, its almost a no win, people will be setting the bar so high for it, or ready to hate it no matter what because there's so much hype (and sure the "fan boy" aspect). Anyways, not entirely sure where I was trying to go with that other than to say that while I've tempered my expectations, I am so fucking pumped for this movie.

Or you know, I just didn't like the trailer. I thought the previous two trailers were much better and this trailer didn't hype me as much. Nothing really screamed 'epic' to me and it looked very forgetable to me. Don't get me wrong I will see it and probably like it, but this won't be the movie that will blow away The Dark Knight in any way. I base this on nothing, but my gut feeling.

This will be a fun thread though; we can check it in about a year and see who was right and wrong just with all the Heath Ledger shit. Fuck it, lets make this a username bet or something.

See, of all the criticisms you could lob at that trailer, I don't think "lack of epic-ness" would be one of them, in my opinion.  In fact, I think the thing that it does best is set the tone (dire) and illustrate just how high the stakes are, for both Batman personally and Gotham at large.

And this is where I disagree. Don't get me wrong I don't want a Michael Bay explosions everywhere trailer or one of those trailers that reveals everything, but this trailer didn't have anything that managed to captivate me. Something the first and second trailers did do and they showed even less. Yeah, I know it's backwards. The music was good I'll give you that, but that's Zimmerman for you.

With the talk of trailers and knowing this is Christopher Nolan's last Batman film, I thought it would be cool to post the trailers from the trilogy:

Thanks for putting that together Natural. I wasn't paying much attention when Batman Begins came out, so I had never watched those trailers. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, I don't think I saw much of TDK's trailers either. Nice to watch them all in order and see how things progressed.

Of course it's not helping my impatience with waiting for July 20th.

Yeah, I was a touch underwhelmed by the Batwing flip scene.  I'm actually surprised that such an obvious NEATO~! scene would be in the movie.
And if you can't enjoy a horror flick while high and surrounded by black people, what the fuck are you even doing watching horror flicks?

I was cool with the scene. I had more of a problem with the dialogue between Catwoman and Batman beforehand, a little cheesy for a Nolan movie. Either way, I am still super excited to see this movie!

Gordon:  I'll get my car.

Batman: I brought mine.

*Tumbler zooms down the alley*

Gordon: I gotta me one of those.

For you fans of Danny Baker's London radio show, the whole version of the Bernie Winters' Batman song from the 60s

Can't say why, but it reminds me of the classic Stern Show "Buttman" bit, with Fred as the Poker.

You're welcome. All the trailers are great but the second trailer for The Dark Knight is not only the best of the trilogy but is the best trailer I've ever seen.

The Dark Knight Rises is, hands down, the most anticipated film of the year. So it's fitting that the film's incendiary anarchist should help kick off our very own revolution...

What better way to launch the brand new interactive iPad edition of Total Film magazine than with an exclusive look at Tom Hardy’s monstrous villain, Bane.

The close-up image offers an unparalleled look at his freaky facewear. Part Hannibal Lector mask, part Predator mandible and wholly unlike the lycra luchador look he sported in the comic, it's destined to make the character an instant icon.

And those eyes… there’s something deeply unsettling about the manic stare Hardy’s locked in here, hinting a level of feral intensity not yet revealed in the trailers. Pray you're not caught in that line of sight...

Posted Image

On the mask, Hardy told us: “It’s not as bad as you might think. You just put it on. Work out where you drool goes. That’s it. Mask work is good fun. This one wasn’t painful; there was the stunt mask and there was the up-close on for the sexy glam shots.”

And he also shared some startling insight into the unforgiving regime he stuck to when we asked: what was required to attain the Bane bulk? “Eating entire villages of chickens.

“When I started I was about 160-something pounds. When I was done I was 190. You lift weights. You eat. You lift some more weights. You don’t run anywhere because if you do cardio, you drop weight. So it’s really good for heart attacks!”

There’s much more from Hardy, his fellow Dark Knight Rises castmembers and director Christopher Nolan – as well as more exclusive shots - in the new issue of Total Film magazine, and the brand new interactive iPad edition.

A few quotes in the latest issue of Total Film Magazine from director Christopher Nolan about the responsibility and challenge of bringing his Batman trilogy to a proper close.

Christopher Nolan: "We feel a tremendous challenge and responsibility to finish our story. We have to give the audiences something they haven't seen before, but also fulfill their expectations of what they enjoyed in the first two films. That's the tricky balance."

"With a sequel there is always the challenge of trying to meet or indeed exceed expectations. And some of those are based on the size, scale and world of the film. We traveled to many different places because we wanted to give it a broader canvas."

Great picture of Bane and Christopher Nolan thoughts on The Dark Knight Rises are perfectly put.
