When he debuted on Smackdown 2 years ago, I thought that he had a lot of potential as a big man, decent mic skills and had a pretty cool finishing move.  But then he was released over a year ago and I haven't heard anything about him since.  He would seem to be a good fit in TNA possibly as a bodyguard for AJ Styles.  Then they can recreate the Diesel/Shawn Michaels pairing further establishing Styles as a main-eventer while also elevating Morgan to eventually feud with him.  Where is wrestling now and has he improved in the ring since his WWE release?

Jim Cornette had always praised Morgan's work ethic and willingness to learn, and he had pushed for TNA to hire him a few months ago. However, they didn't. How else can they afford to pay Fat Naked Oily Guy?

It's funny I was just thinking about him yesterday and remembered Cornette being high on him. I remember in the Observer OVW reports they talked about how he was improving and they did a mask gimmick with him as Blueprint. Didn't he have some sort of crazy finisher? I didn't think he was thaaaat bad.

On the finisher front, I think it was a vertical suplex turned Chokeslam that did indeed look killer. I liked Matt, and someone his size with solid talent and a good look should have been a solid midcarder at min. Don't get why the E stuck him with taht studdering gimmick

I don't know how he was before, but when I saw him in AJPW he sucked.

I saw one AJPW match he had which sucked but in his defense he was matched up against Arashi who is a black hole

Same match I saw to be honest, but I have heard other mention how much he sucked in his tags with RO&D.

Basically Morgan had the audacity to learn how to cut a good promo in OVW. He also had the problem of Cornette being so high on him, at a time when Cornette wasn't liked. It's basically the same thing Mike Knox is/was going through with Paul Heyman.

Still does seem surprising why TNA or WWE won't give him a shot right now- especially considering the track record (when Cornette says that they'll main event Wrestlemania in 5 years and both his other two people anointed as such [The Rock and Batista] both hit that goal, you'd expect that would be enough for TNA to snap him up or WWE to resign him...)
Too lazy to rehost sig. Back...eventually. Maybe.

Didn’t Morgan and Jindrak team together in HUSTLE in a team called “Sodom and Gomorra”?

I don't get why Morgan was cut either... JR was supposedly in love with the dude. Plus he fits the whole 300+ pounds 6'5"+ mold... and he wasn't a bad worker or horrible promo either. The stuttering gimmick was bad, though.

I thought he was clearly better than Masters. And on his first Japan tour was clearly better than Haas. Neither of which is high praise. But all that said he  is a guy who looked credible standing toe to toe with The Big Show. He is far too tall for TNA.

As I mentioned before, since TNA doesn't have any wrestlers his size I think that he would make a great addition.  Instead of putting AJ Styles with Christian's stable, I think that he would be better off alone with a bodyguard ala Diesel with Shawn Michaels and Morgan would be a perfect fit.  Then Styles would not only be a main event star but he can also eventually elevate Morgan.  Then I could see Morgan feuding with guys like Samoa Joe and Abyss in the main event picture where he can have a match vs. Joe titled "The immovable object vs. the unstoppable force".  TNA should take the book from Russo and give it to me.

I'm probably one of the only people that liked the stuttering gimmick. It made him less generic.

WWE did fire A-Train, Chuck Palumbo, and Test around that time period too, so maybe they weren't as high on big guys then

Also the finisher he used for awhile did end in a Sidewalk Slam type move

He's probably in the same boat as someone like D'lo Brown in that he is making enough off Japan/doesn't fit into TNA's schedule
