Airplane!
The Blue Lagoon (Brook Shields' titties!)
The Blues Brothers (the best 'musical' EVER! Definitely one of my favorite films)
Caddyshack (the best golf movie ever....suck on that Happy Gilmore)
Cheech & Chong's Next Movie
Raging Bull (the best boxing movie ever...)
The Shining (Jack Nicholson + An Axe / Insanity = Greatness...ONE of Kubrick's best)
Shogun Assassin (The original lone wolf and cub series is amazing, but this recut version is a classic too)
Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (the best Star Wars ever...)
Stir Crazy
Superman II (the best Superman movie...)
Damn, it was a good year for movies, and a lot of peak films in their respective genres...

STARDUST MEMORIES: It's a sweet little metamovie about relationships that apparently pissed off the Woodman's fanbase because he made fun of them throughout. I am not a big Woody Allen fan, so perhaps that's why I quite enjoyed this.
It's a great film, there's no need for any kind of apology for enjoying it. It's obviously not told in the way most of Woody's stuff is, but IMO it's his third best film of the decade and, on my list, a Top 30 pick.

Saw this on Friday at a revival cinema in Brooklyn. It's currently unavailable on DVD which is why I missed it for my ballot. Had I seen it however, it would've easily made my top 20. An incredible film with incredible performances by Robin Johnson & Trina Alveraldo. Also, a killer no-wave/post-punk soundtrack! This film totally captures a late 70's/early 80's hardcore NYC vibe that has been pretty much demolished since. Great film!
