Sorry dude, I must have missed that post. Like I mentioned earlier, I've been very hung over lately. But does anyone think something like that concept could work and is worth doing? I'm really into the idea of this project but it seems like not many people are willing to do a whole lot to keep it going. Not that the witty comments about absorbing the films through osmosis aren't helping ;D.

We should really just resuscitate (You know, I've never been able to spell that word...) the old "Best Movies of the 90s, 80s etc. etc." voting.  I can't remember who used to run those.  But I would totally be into voting on a 2000-2005, 1990s, 1980s, 1970s (Anything before that I'm a little more scattered on).  If I'm not mistaken, there was period of pimpage where people suggested their movies, a month or so was given to watch whatever you'd been meaning to get around to watching, and then you submitted a Top 50.  Votes were weighed accordingly, and eventually a Top 100 or 200 (I forget which) was sorted out.

I didn't want to get involved with this project, b/c the scope is too broad and elitist (If you say "You can nominate anything" then there should be NO people bitching about what someone nominates, the voting weeds out the poor choices in the end), something more concentrated could be a little more fun.

I believe it was MDS that was the guy that was behind those lists, although they did peter out after a while. It's the best way to go imo.

There's been some movie listage going on over at Smarkschoice lately. We've got through 2000-present, 90's and 80's so I've got a lot of pimping ammo, so I'd be very game if we did a similar concept here.

How about have 25 people post 20 from a single decade, and then vote the 500 list down to 250, by having everyone post their top 50 of the decade. We could work out a point system. We could do that with all the decades, or at least, the decades that it would work for. Let's at least do something, and not just talk about it.
