SLAM-O-RAMA in HELLCITY

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

Gloria Cultural Arena, Helsinki FIN

On Thursday, October 16th at Gloria Cultural Arena in Helsinki, a mega professional wrestling event dubbed Slam-o-Rama in Hellcity sees the return of legendary international wrestling superstar "The King of Old School" Steve Corino back to Finland for the first time in over three years! Steve Corino is coming to challenge current Finnish Wrestling Champion "The Canadian Rebel" StarBuck, in the hopes of adding the Finnish Title to his impressive list of 56 Titles won around the world to this date in his 14 year career.

Steve Corino and StarBuck have faced eachother once in the past in May 2005 in Helsinki, when Corino defeated StarBuck in a classic 30-minute match that is still talked about to this day. StarBuck never received a rematch against Corino despite much lobbying, but now in 2008 Finland's pro wrestling pioneer and former European Wrestling Champion "The Canadian Rebel" gets the chance to redeem himself!

"That one loss to Corino has eaten at me for the past three years," states an anxious StarBuck, as he prepares for Slam-o-Rama in Hellcity "Steve Corino is a superb wrestler, no doubt about it, but he came here to my country – to the place where I pioneered this sport – and beat me at my own game on my own turf, in front of the wrestlers that I trained. This chance at personal redemption has been a long time coming, and I will do everything in my power to make sure history does not repeat itself come October 16th!"

Finnish Champion StarBuck has specifically asked that this rematch with Steve Corino be made an unsanctioned bout, where anything goes and there can be no disqualifications or stoppage until a definitive victory is achieved by either man. There is a very real possibility that the nature of this unsanctioned match will not be for the weak at heart, and thus a K18 ruling (18+ age limit) has been passed down in regards to the event.

"I'm ready to risk my body and put my health on the line in this match," StarBuck continues, "I am preparing for THE trial of my professional life, and I am willing to pay the price to do whatever it takes to defeat Steve Corino and take back that measure of personal pride which I lost back in 2005!"

On his own message board, Steve Corino was quick to answer back regarding StarBuck's comments: "Tony Halme...Who cares! Starbuck WHO??? Suomi on hapeaksi Showpainille...Corino 4 kertainen maailman mestari tulossa Suomeen ja take over!! Hahaha....You see StarBuck, you are not the only one that can speak to the Finnish people. I am more of a hero then you or Halme, or anyone else in Fight Club Finland could ever imagine. I married into Finland. In fact, people in the US didn't even know what Finland was until I put it on the map again. And on October 16 I am going to be the Finnish Heavyweight Champion and take over as the role model of the new Finland wrestling scene."

It's anyone's guess what will happen in this anything goes match-up when these two veterans of the game collide in mortal combat at Gloria Cultural Arena in Helsinki on October 16th!

In other matches at Slam-o-Rama in Hellcity, the tag team of Beauty and the Beast – Valentine and Häijy-Heimo Ukonselkä – take on the team of metal warrior Stark Adder and the hottest young lion in Scandinavia today, Pasi "Salama" Suominen; newcomer Habanero meets fan favorite Tuho Torvinen; punker Eddie Anarchy collides with The Mighty Perkules in a rematch from this past summer where the two fought to a double disqualification; while masked villain Ibo Ten clashes with rookie Jesse The Kidd!

Just thought I'd add StarBuck's "money promo" regarding his rematch with Steve Corino from YouTube to this thread, which is pretty powerful stuff. Watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDcnYfarqTQ

For anyone who wants to know the score and history between StarBuck and Corino, the low-down can be read HERE with interviews from both sides.

A cool YouTube clip of the initial match between these two from May 2005: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXmhOFkaZ94
