The Lazy Samurai
Fuck, the deleted scenes on NBC.com are awesome. Screw Jim and Roy, Toby is the one who deserves to end up with Pam when it's all said and done.

I can't get the deleted scenes, but I was wondering if they were ever going to get back to the "Toby is interested in Pam" storyline.
BigBen213
Oh man, thank you so much. It's perfect

And I had to go and ruin it with my shitty MS Paint skills...

Andy is doomed, Angela will slowly pick him to pieces and he won't even see it coming.

But to go one better, I think we're all underestimating Jim's involvement in Andy's come-uppance. Dwight might have been a pain in the ass to Jim and pranking him was his way of filling days out, but that was just one of his people that just got fucked with. And in the end, Dwight might be an ass-kissing hall monitor and an oddball to everyone else but he isn't the weasel that Andy is.

Remember how batshit Andy went with the stapler-in-Jello stunt? That's nothing.

Say what you want... Andy is *the* MVP of the show. Everytime he opens his mouth, I laugh... a lot.

Blasphemy.

I had forgotten his reaction to the Jello stapler...that just makes me more anxious to see him slowly driven nuts.

And NBC offically gave the Office a 4th season yesterday (also giving us more Earl, Heroes and SVU).

Whoo hoo!

Just read that there will be a "producer's cut" of the ep. tonight on NBC.com.

Good news.

I have but 3 words before I see the show:

GET HIM, Angela.
MGFanJay
Yet another awesome episode that makes me finally dig season 3 as much as 2. I'm looking forward to the producer's cut later tonight. We got lots of drama and comedy in the regular one, and the producer's cut should be even more awesome.

Hilarious little detail for me was Michael giving Dwight first crack at the pinata even though it was Oscar's party
sigmachiev
Favorite part was Andy singing that Cranberries song.

For all of those people who think Jim is a puss, I feel for the man. Takes guts to admit that to someone you're in a relationship with. Although it's not like anything is getting resolved by the end of this season, now that season 4 is confirmed.
The Great ML
Man I hope this becomes an hour show next season!

Sooo much goodness from the director's cut online...

Creed calling Meredith "mama" and asking her to draw him a map to the chimichanga aisle!
"You're NOT REAL, MAN!"
Andy going to anger management for 10 weeks...he thinks its a good thing because "he's management material"
The "Mexican Lemonade" because Ryan added a '~' and a '`.'
Phyllis SHAKES HER MARACCAS!

I love this show.
Shylock
They really should've kept that Jim/Creed/Oscar scene in the regular airing. That was just incredible.
piranesi
That was just about as perfect as it could have been.

It was perfect that they kept Angela in character rather then making her the hand of vengeance...and great that they built on the previous Andy meltdown over the stapler (someone called this earlier in the thread).

A perfect way to build the Michael Andy relationship...from that first impression through to his growing annoyance last week, to basically becoming almost normal for a moment through the experience.

Every character was spot on and to have such a "plot arc" episode be so loaded with great jokes is amazing.

As well, it amazes me that in the middle of the third season, they can still play the Jim/Pam/[Karen] thing into that one brief moment of romantic angst that defined the show at the very beginning.

Just superb.

I also loved that while Dwight has been shown to be competent as a Mifflin salesman, they still managed to show him as completely incapable of surviving in the world outside of D-M.

Line of the night: "Not because he's Gay. Oscar, your being gay isn't what defines you to me. Your being Mexican is what defines you for me."

And I almost forgot the snow-shoveling....wow...and hwo the Muzak in Staples almost became like a romantic comedy soundtrack when the guy (Michael) is franctically searching for the girl (Dwight) who's about to leave forever...and then he hears Dwight's voice ("Fine, It's your funeral....just go with the copy paper.")...it was beautiful.
Stuttsy
Amazing episode, once again.

Personally, I felt like they could (and kind of hoped that they would) not give us the Dwight re-hire right away, everything was going just as I'd anticipated (Andy becomes increasingly hated while Dwight is shown in some menial job, though I'd envisioned fast food) as to put in it wrestling vernacular, they put sympathy on Dwight and wait for the come back next week. I was surprised to see them go ahead and bright Dwight back after just a week, but it was definitely another home run episode.

Best moment of the show hands down for me was the brief Karen/Jim interaction and Jim being honest, rather than seemingly every other character on every other sitcom (including Jim himself for the first two seasons) and trying to build a web of lies to protect himself. It was just awesome and totally sets the stage for Jim being able to actually confront his own feelings in another big scene with Pam down the road.

Line of the night for me was definitely "Maybe YOU'RE in the ceiling!"

My favorite moment was when Michael gives Andy the look that other people give Michael all the time. You know what I'm talkin' about ...

My favorite line : " I actually miss Dwight. OK, universe ... you win."

FWIW Jim is treating Karen a hell of a lot better than he did purse girl on the booze cruise.

You got to respect Jim for manning up and admitting it. But his crush on Pam now is only because he doesn't want to grow up.

I love this show.

The bit with the Mexican lemonade was in the regular NBC version, and ruled.

I liked Ryan just going "um, okay" facially when he was doing it, and his exchange with Jim -
"I liked you better as a temp. Yeah, me too."

Michael with Dwight resulted in some great stuff, too -
"If you'd do that for a random employee, then I made the wrong call, and it takes a big man to admit that. I'm the big man."
"Okay, you can stop shaking her hand now."

Here are some other funny shots from the show.

Thank you sir, for providing me with a bevvy of new avatars to choose from every week.

Awesome episode this week. Classic prank on Andy by Jam, and Team Karen pretty much goes down swinging this week. Congrats Team Pam, you've earned it.

"I dont like his big head, or his beady little eyes."
BizMoney
What more can be said about the episode that hasn't already been touched on.

I felt this quote deserved recognition, however.

Jim: Hey, Ryan. Do you want to pull a prank on Andy?
Ryan: Not right now. But ask me again ten years ago.

*licks finger, marks the air* Count it.

Man, Ryan is such a smarmy little shit.
Mushroomjones
My favorite scene was Angela and Michael sitting in the breakroom together, just trying to hide the fact they both miss Dwight.

I don't think growing up has anything to do with it. His feelings for Pam are so strong that he can't move on from her, he wants to, his life would be easier if he could, but he can't because that's how much of a hold she has on him.

He actually said "Not because you're gay. Your gayness does not define you, your Mexicanness is what defines you to me and I think we should celebrate Oscar's Mexicanity", which is even better.

Actually just after reading the posts here I realized that Pam - Jim - Karen is probably not the only love triangle going on on the show. Look at the big smiles on Angela's and Michael's faces when Dwight beats up the pinata when everybody else looks annoyed.
shoogbear63
Man, I don't like mean, unhappy Andy. I prefer happy, trying to be funny Andy. The whole fishing sticht was hilarous (like Nick Cannon).

This is waaaay subtle and I am showing my age here, but did anyone else notice that they were playing the payoff music (up where we belong) from "An Officer and a Gentleman" on the Muzak when Michael went in and took Dwight out of Staples.

Yeah I picked up on that to, I would have liked to seen a Dwight at the farm episode before he came back.

I was soooooo ready for Dwight to smile that big cheesy grin and drop a "That's what she said" at this moment.

I couldn't hear it through all the tears of joy.

*cough* I'm still a man, dammit.

Personally I loved Dwight's intereaction with his new coworker while on break at Staples. Poor Creed keeps hitting the cutting room floor, fucking shame. Other than that another great, great ep.

I was (pleasantly) surprised how fast Dwight's return and Michael's disillusionment with Andy played out. It wasn't subtle, but it worked great. It's too bad we didn't get to see the animosity between Dwight and the Staples lady develop.

The "I CAN'T STAND HIS GIANT HEAD AND BEADY LITTLE EYES" made me just lose it. Cruel, cruel, irony.
terry glenn
This week's episode made me realize how much I love Kevin. The "gay-cation" line was great, but the shot of him giggling when Angela asked Oscar to join the party committee was priceless.
DougN
I loved how close it showed Kevin and Oscar. I still remember Hate Ball between the two of them and their scoreboard.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ed Helms has been upped from recurring status to series regular! Sweet!

Rashida Jones, however, remains "recurring."

MGFanJay
That was an AWESOME episode. We got some Pam-Jim-Karen drama, and lots of great stuff with Michael.

"Leave me alone and get the male stripper."
"Michael referred me to a male strip club called Banana Sling... but instead, I went with the Scholastic Speakers of America."
Michael to Ben Franklin - "You wearin' a thong? WHAT!?"
"Is this the same grill you grilled your foot on? No... yes... GROSS!"
Michael: Who wants some man meat?
Dwight: I WANT SOME MAN MEAT!
Michael: Then it is my man meat you shall have!
"You smell like Tide detergent!"
"This is wrong, I HAVE A GIRLFRIEND! And you're you're engaged... and you probably have a boyfriend in prison."
"I'm feeling some electricity here. Didn't Ben Franklin have syphllis? Yes, but I don't."
"Ben Franklin, you're really kind of a sleazebag."
"I don't care what Jim says, that is NOT the real Ben Franklin. I am 99.9% sure!"
"So you know who turned out to be kind of a creep? Ben Franklin. Elizabeth the stripper gave me some great advice."
IsaacDuke
Have you ever seen a stripper before?
Yes! Jennifer Garner played one on "Alias". It was one of her aliases.
...Yeah, me neither.
Grimmas
Stan uses the plastic fork and knife and them breaking on the steak was my favourite part of the episode.
offspring515
Where was Andy this week? And Oscar?

I didn't think of that once during the episode, which was great, but....yeah...where were they?
MGFanJay
I missed Stanley breaking his picnicware on the steaks... guess I'll just have to rewatch the epiosde. I can get some of the screens that I missed out on the first, too.

Which was promptly followed by a shot of Creed picking his steak up with both hands and taking a big bite.

What killed me was Michael then wondering why someone like her doesn't try to become president.

I love how Karen's trying to show that everything's okay in public with the hug to Jim. It looked like after all the talking she's reassuring herself that everything's okay and later on she gave this glare to Pam. I'd love for a screencap of that shot.

Mine too. "Of course..."

Maybe I'm tired, but I didn't like it quite as much as some other ones this season. Still great though.
Oyaji
Dude, he started his question with the stripper by addressing her as ... well... "stripper"

I thought it was one of the better episodes from this season. I laughed pretty much throughout the entire episode and that was without Helms.
MGFanJay
I don't think I grabbed a shot of Karen's glare at Pam, but I did snag some of her looking evilly after that quick hug with Jim, and him looking really tired after it. I loved that Pam said she knew how to read Jim's feelings just by looking at his neck - it's a touching statement about just how much she cares for him, and I hope that this is the season where she finally confesses her true feelings to him.
