I was trying to figure out who the comments were towards, Bryan never seems negative towards Punk on the B&V show. Speaking of which, this week's was probably the worst free show I've ever heard. Usually they're a lot of fun, but this week's was littered with utter hatred for RAW and Smackdown.

Anyway, I thought it was a fun interview. The Garea story was hilarious.

Rob Naylor is a fine human being. With 99% of wrestling podcasts, I am bombarded with negativity and come out of them liking wrestling less. With Naylor's enthusiasm and unashamed wrestling fandom, he carries every wrestling audio show he is on and I come out of them feeling happy to be a fan of pro wrestling. It's almost impossible to be positive and entertaining, so ace work from Rob. He is definitely a draw for me in the world of fringe wrestling audio.

He may seem like that on the radio, but in real life Rob Naylor is the most vile hateful person I have ever met. It is like staring Satan in the eyes

As perviously mentioned, there's the whole "Punk/Maria/OVW Xmas Party" deal, which I always thought was more schtick than anything else.

I didn't know one had to bend over to stare Satan in the eyes. ;)

Oh, and Karl Stern is the only reason anymore to subscribe to F4W as far as radio goes, personally. I used to enjoy Bryan and Vinnie, but now it's torture. Who wants to listen to a self hating wrestling fan/ wrestler call everyone "geeks."? Just two years ago the shows were funny usually, there's just no "fun" lately.

Well, the Samoans one was truly glorious, it's going to be hard to top. This one was pretty much a blast as well. I echo a lot of the sentiments in this thread, it's refreshing to hear guys talking about wrestling and enjoying it, rather than begrudgingly discuss wrestling en route to the more important topic MMA.

Looking forward to more stuff...even if you've got no guest, keep going with that wrestling category idea. I'm pretty damn sure hearing Naylor ramble on (uh, I mean, give in-depth analysis) about Wahoo McDaniel is going to be highly entertaining.

If Satan were standing on a milk crate, yeah.

Come to think of it, both times I met Rob in person, I was wearing shades. Perhaps this has colored my opinion of the man.

In any case, another fine show, and a hell of a thing being able to get Punk, even if you guys do go way back to the olden days.

Ok, I left myself open for that. Well played.

(Even though the Dead are the greatest band to ever exist. Sorry, gotta defend the one thing that always gives me joy.)

Seconded. I mean, all of the wrestling podcasts that now talk half about MMA are just traitors in my earbuds. I realized I don't care about journalism, I want wrestling fanboy jabber.

All hail Bix and Naylor.

I always took Bryan's treatment of Punk as mostly schick stemming from Bryan's affection for Maria around 2005 time.

Without sounding too precious I always thought calling wrestlers geeks as fairly disrespectful although some wrestlers still resemble being labelled so. But Bryan uses it way too much.

To be fair about Dave and the MMA coverage SLIGHTLY, he does have to do all those shows for Yahoo as part of his job now, so it probably pays pretty well. And he does ask for more pro wrestling questions to be sent on those Radio shows I hear. Still, everything else said is generally justified.

Yahoo must be a good boss, since the schedule they have Dave on (flying to all the shows and what not) seems to often conflict with stuff Dave needs to do for the Observer.

Basically, yeah. Dave has asked numerous times for people to stop calling about UFC questions and as of right now, he's sick of them. He's been practically begging for wrestling related questions on the last few audio sessions (mostly this week).

This was a good listen, I love how Naylor is just flat out running down a list of guys that he liked better than Punk in 2003 including Brian XL, Deranged, Red, Teddy Hart, etc. And how Punk is totally cool with that. It's also interesting hearing Punk flat out say things I always thought about him (that the Rave feud was really when he became a well rounded wrestler). Also funny to hear Steamboat just nudges him sometimes and brings up their ROH feud.

yeah, that Steamboat bit was tremendous. I picture him doing it really covertly as well. It's very awesome in my mind.
